First time at LBC?

3864 Guess Rd, Durham, NC 27705

We know that the first visit to any place can be seemingly overwhelming. We completely understand, but we want to put you at ease. At Liberty, we are used to having first-time guests; they show up every Sunday. Below are some FAQ’s that we want to answer for you.

What should I expect as an adult?

Friendly
Most adults attend our Sunday morning service where they enjoy the beautiful and inspiring music of the choir ensembles, and soloists. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Cox. This service begins at 10:45 and lets out at noon or a little before.

Also, during the 9:45 hour there are several adult Bible classes offered for couples and singles. These classes are smaller group settings where you are invited to meet people, enjoy some coffee and donuts, and hear a teaching lesson more directly applicable to your stage of life. The best way to get to know people at Liberty Baptist Church is to visit one of these adult Bible classes.

What’s here for my children?

Children
Starting with excellent nurseries, there is something special for every age child from birth through college. At every service there are safe, clean, and highly-staffed nurseries for children three years old and under. For children four years old through sixth grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.

For students seventh grade through college age, there are graded classes in our youth department. Most of the teens attend a class one hour and then our Sunday morning service with their parents. Wednesday nights offer a time for graded classes as well.

Finding Nurseries, Classes, and Services

Hand_shake
Our greeters and ushers are located around campus as well as in the lobbies of all three buildings. They will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place. Our nursery is located in the hallway connecting Buildings A and B. We offer classes for children of all ages on Sunday as well as Wednesday so bring your entire family!

What Should I Wear?

While it is certainly not required, the majority of our congregation dresses in their Sunday best. Many men have on a tie, and ladies a dress; some don’t. The most important thing is that you are there.

Do I have to give in the offering?

Each service, our ushers will pass the offering plates. This is the time when you will give us your guest information card. Just drop it in the plate. Many of our regular attenders will give their tithes and offerings as well. If you desire to give, you may. But you will not have to or be expected to.

Above all, we want you to experience a truth-centered friendly church when you visit. If there is anything that we can do for you, simply find an usher, pastor, or anyone that seems like a “regular.” They will take the time to assist you and answer any questions you may have. LBC is the end of your search for a friendly church.

Sounds good, but I would like to talk to someone.
